Tumble burnishing, also called tumble finishing, or just tumbling, is placing metal parts in a barrel with an abrasive media and rotating the barrel. Sometimes called barrel finishing, tumbling can smooth, deburr, clean and polish metal parts. The same process in nature produces "sea glass."
