Customer-Focused Communications

We, the Erie Plating team, want to make sure you get the surface finishing you need, at the right price.  We want to take metal finishing concerns off your ‘worry list.’  We do this in two ways:

1. Our first goal is to know your needs, up-front, so as to provide you with the best possible finishing experience.

By choosing Erie Plating, you will have the internal metal finishing knowhow of our members, working with you to determine the best, most cost-effective solution.  We will continue to use our over 95-years of experience in metal plating to recommend the best process that meets and exceeds your quality finishing goals, while at the same time achieve pricing and overall finishing value for you and your customers.

We'll ask questions so that your project, well known to you, becomes well known to us.  We want to make sure we know the entire scope of your finishing needs including incoming packaging, as received conditions, special handling requirements, tolerance & measurement concerns, masking and racking locations, finishing specifications, testing requirements, final inspection requirements, and final packaging for shipment.

Additionally, do you require RoHS compliant finishing?  Do you require “first-article” trial runs before we run and complete the entire quantity received?  When do you need your parts?  Do you have specific shipping and transportation requirements?  Do you have price point targets, which are known at the time of your request for quote?

Our intentions for our customers: To do things right the first time and make sure you get the surface finishing you need.  If you don’t need the extensive testing requirements of the military and aerospace companies, for example, we will be able to reduce costs for you. We try to gain a complete understanding of your needs, unearthing any hidden requirements early in the process.  As a result, we have developed an extensive quoting and contract review process.

Yes, we do ask a lot of questions.  We do that so we can meet your requirements in a timely, cost-effective manner while reducing the number of times we have to call you back for information. Our interest in discovering your complete and accurate requirements is what differentiates us from other plating companies.

2. Our second goal is to clearly communicate with you about your job and its status.

We aim to make sure you are completely aware of our work on your parts.  On a daily basis, we email our customers their Order and Shipment Report which notifies our customers of receipt date, quantity, part number, and date we plan to ship your parts.  If your part and process status changes, the daily Order and Shipment Report will reflect your order updates.

We have a great team ready and willing to serve you, including Dave Briggs, our President (814-453-7531, X-229).
