What is RoHS?

"RoHS" stands for the restriction of certain hazardous substances. This directive has banned the release on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than the allowed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants as of July 1, 2006.
